Interview with Hip Hop group Black Vulcanite

Black Vulcanite is a Namibian Hip Hop/rap group that consists of three powerful lyricists Mark Mushiva (MarkQuestion), Alain Villet (AliTHATdude) and Nikolai Tjongarero (NikolaiTNB). Check out their Q&A with Nam Hip Hop news:
Q: Who are the Black Vulcanite?
A: Black Vulcanite is a three man Hip Hop/Poetry group who use unadulterated Hip Hop to introduce the tourist ear to life in Africa.

Q: What inspires your powerful lyrics?
A: Everyday life, the history of our country and our continent. The constant struggle to define who we are in a world where others have had the sole mandate in dictating what we are capable of.
Q: How did you form a rap group?
A: We all grew up together, the group was formed when we all realized Namibian Hip Hop needed direction and we stepped up.
Q: What has been your experience in the game?
A: In what can easily be a decade we have experienced the highs and lows of this industry. It's relatively easy to get into it but it is hard to make a valuable contribution to it's decrepit state.
Q: Tell us about Black Vulcanite signing to a major record label?
A: We signed with Rude World records in December last year after nearly two years of trying to get into the more developed SA hip hop scene. Our manager Leneave Hansen and Swiss producer Maloon's efforts were instrumental in securing the deal for us. We get flown out for gigs, life is good.
Q: Who are your local Top 5 rappers (could be individually)?
A: Isparks, The boy Jay, BrainTheTool, Kannibal, and KK

Q: Do you think the rap game is sleeping on Female rappers in Namibia?
A: Quite frankly I'd say female rappers are sleeping on the game, we've heard a couple of really dope female emcees in the most shadowy places and a lot of them don't seem to think they have a role to play in the Namibian Hip Hop game.

Q: Who would you love to collaborate with in Namibia?
A: : Jaques Mushanja, Shishani, Gazza, Lize Ehlers, and Big Ben

Q: When should we expect new projects from Black Vulcanite?
A: Hot singles all the year round and an album tabled for a close to the end of the year release.

Q: What do you think about Namibian Hip Hop?
A: It's in its infancy, it needs a lot of nurturing and we should guard against corrupting influences. We have high hopes for it, a lot of artists are starting to see the light and we're excited about being part of the generation that will define what Namibian Hip Hop will be remembered as many years from now.

Q: What has Black Vulcanite been up to?
A: We're working on an album and a mixtape.

Q: Question for Mark; how does it feel being mentioned in everybody's
Top 5 local rappers?
A: I'm glad to have inspired people to hold me in such high regard. Strength and honor.

Q: Message to the fans?
A: Keep a close eye on the game and watch it change, be a part of this change. Live long and prosper. Remember the future.
